Much more attention is being paid to men’s health issues; far more than before because men are more willing than they ever were consult doctor’s regarding certain problems. Many men’s health issues are specifically problems that they alone face even though men experience the same health issues that women do. The natural reason for this is that men have certain parts that women don’t have and vice versa. For example, men are experiencing a high rate of complications due to problems with their prostates. Some other common men’s health issues that tend to come up are: testicular problems like cancer, colon problems, heart disease, and hypertension and high cholesterol.

The basic fact of the matter is that men have a tendency to live in a unhealthier manner than women do. They smoke more, drink more, are less active, behave in a more dangerous manner, and visit doctors less than women do. That is probably why the general theory is that women live longer than men do because on average they do! Men also largely define themselves by their work, which adds to stress and to being disconnected from their emotional side. This can add to problems in relationships, as well as in jobs and careers. The good news is that many of the major health risks that men face can be prevented and treated if they are diagnosed early. So you deserve to pay more attention to yourself! Take better care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Basically, men need to do the same things that women need to do in order to stay healthy and live longer fuller lives. Men should be active regularly, eat well balanced foods, try to maintain a healthy weight level, and visit the doctor regularly if they want to avoid or prevent some of the common men’s health issues that arise these days. At least, if you are hoping that you will someday live to be 90 years old.
